Coca cola Company on Tuesday was ordered by the High Court to print nutritional information and customer care details on its glass bottles within six months.

Justice Joseph Onguto directed Nairobi bottlers and the mother company to ensure that nutritional information email address and storage directions are available on Fanta, Krest Stoney and coke soft drinks.

In his derangement, Justice Onguto said that it amounts to discrimination that the nutritional information was displayed on the plastic bottles and not glass bottles.

Mr Mark Ndumia moved to court in a case accusing the beverage company of denying its consumers the much needed information which is crucial in making dietary decisions.

He contended that every consumer is entitled to access the important information and details and as such there was no justification as to why the information was not available on glass bottles.

However, the company has argued that there is no legal obligation imposed on a manufacturer of soft drink s to display nutritional information or the stated details on the label of its products.

Nairobi bottlers have reasoned that Mr Ndumia should have first used all the available mechanism to resolve the matter before taking the matter to the High Court.
