Mbilini Coffee Factory association has blamed one of its member-corporate societies Limited for what they term as unfair export of their best coffee produce, and duping the factory by bringing the remaining coffee neglect to the company.
Speaking on Friday in Mbilini town during a routine meeting with all the factory stakeholders, the chairman of Mbilini Coffee Factory Onesmus Musyoki reproached the issue, stating that the Mbilini Corporate Society Limited had gotten links with ‘soko huru’, an export market, which explained their little produce brought to the factory.
“In the last three months, Mbilini limited has been delivering few kilograms of coffee, ranging from 13 kilograms to 20 kilograms from the previous 75 to 90 kilograms at most,” said Musyoki.
“We are aware that Mbilini is exporting its best produce to ‘soko huru’ and according to our terms of agreement it is not allowed. Together with the rest of the other contributors we are not happy about,” added Musyoki.
However, the factory management stated that the rest of the suppliers were willing to continue delivering their coffee as usual.
The other suppliers include Ukanga Mutune Corporate Society Limited, Kikambuani Limited and Ungwani society Limited.
The factory management further stated that the export business by Mbilini had brought a reduction of the factories production that had caused an alarm that needed to be addressed and solved.
