The Coalition for Constitution Implementation (CCI) Kenya has condemned the decision by the Council of Governors (CoG) to invite Burundi Communal Development Minister Jean Kagayo at the ongoing Governors Conference in Meru County.
CCI wondered what kind of advice the Burundi Minister would give to the counties, "given that Burundi System of Governance is a dictatorship."
CCI termed the move to invite the Burundi Minister as the epitome of impunity.
“The governors should focus on slaying the corruption dragon that has permeated the county governments especially the Executive wing instead of covering up the corruption in the counties by inviting the Burundi Minister,” CCI said on Tuesday.
The body said it shall present a protest petition to the CoG office in Nairobi and also called for immediate arrest of Mr Kagayo.
The devolution conference began on April 19 and will come to a close on April 23, 2016.
