The Council of Governors will hold its 5th Annual Devolution Conference in 2018.
The council came to the consensus after a consultation involving governors and other key economic stakeholders.
The practice in the previous Devolution Conferences has been to hold a mega event and discuss pertinent issues in plenary sessions of about 4 hours each.
The council wrote on its twitter account that one of the Conference resolutions was to organise sector-based conferences to allow exhaustive deliberation on issues in the sectors in future.
Instead of handling one sector at a time, the Council of Governors reached the decision to hold a Sector-based 5th Annual Devolution Conference
“One of the Conference resolutions was that in future we organise sector based conferences to allow exhaustive deliberation on issues in the sectors. Instead of handling one sector at a time, the Council of Governors reached the decision to hold a Sector-based 5th Annual Devolution Conference,” read the tweet.
Council of Governors had so far conducted four Annual Devolution Conferences.
The First Devolution Conference was held in Kwale County with the second done in Kisumu. The 3rd and the 4th Annual Devolution Conference were conducted in Meru and Nakuru County respectively.
