A section of clerics from Kisii county has joined hands with other clerics from different parts of the nation to condemn recent remarks made by the National Council of Churches in Kenya (NCCK) chairman.
The church elders led by Apostle Daniel Kebacha of LCK church they said Canon Peter Karanja's proposal that he made on Tuesday for the introduction of premier and the two deputies that will sit in the Cabinet and answer questions in Parliament is out of context and that was his personal views and not for the church and its members.
"We want Kenya to learn to be headed by the president and if the clergy feels there is a need for change he should simply join the opposition to push their agenda and a new constitution as well," said Kebacha.
However on his side, while in a live televised press conference, Karanja said the move is geared towards creating of the official opposition that will dignify its duty to hold the government of the day to account.
However, a number of clerics have been criticised their sentiments and said they were a mouthpiece of the opposition NASA.
