South Nyanza region residents who have not collected their Identification cards from Huduma centers and designated areas have been advised to collect them.
According to South Nyanza IEBC coordinator Sarah Ogaro, it is only eligible people who have attained 18 years with Identification cards and valid passport who can be registered as voters hence he called upon those who have not collected their identification cards from designated areas to do so in haste.
“I would like to urge residents who have not collected their IDs and who have not registered as voters to hurry up and get their IDs so that they can be able to be registered as voters,” said Mrs Ogaro.
The coordinator who was addressing the media on Tuesday at her office in Kisii County also challenged all stakeholders to sensitize people the importance of registering as voters.
“I also call upon all stakeholders including politicians to sensitise residents on the importance of voter registration in the ongoing phase3 exercise which will take 30 days,” she said.
She also noted that they have officers in all Huduma centers in Nyamira, Kisii, and Migiro who are registering people hence advised residents to visit the centers for registration.
Early reports indicated that more than 14,000 IDs were uncollected from Kisii Huduma centers.
