Police in Etago, Kisii County are holding a male college student suspected of luring a 15 year old primary pupil into a bar lodging where he repeatedly defiled her.
Area OCPD Moses Kanyi said the 22 year old suspect was busted by members of the public who also attempted to lynch him shortly before police arrived.
"We will charge him with defilement as soon as we finish with investigations," he said.
He said the student was found with an expired Ramogi Institute student card during the Monday incident.
"We are yet to establish if he is still studying there because other sources said he had finished from there," said Kanyi.
The suspect is said to had seduced the school girl and told her to meet him at Goodies Bar lodging where he was busted in the act.
Kisii County Commander Agnes Mudamba warned of the rise of sex pests in the County and asked members of the public to report such cases.
She said the police were vigilant and will not condone the behaviour.
She further warned politicians from the region from misusing bodaboda operators for their selfish ends.
She especially cited an incident where a group of riders were hired by a local politician to dig a trench across a road to tarnish the name of the incumbent MP.
