Kisama has said that the existing law(s) do(es) not comprehensively protect women from the violence that is being meted on them daily.

Additionally, the MCA has asked the government to set aside some money to be used to enlighten women on what to do in case of rape.

"Rape cases have increased much in Kenya including here in Uasin Gishu. We need to sensitise people how to handle rape victims so that evidence is not lost as it has been happening leading to defeat of many rape cases in court,”said Kisama.

At the same time the MCA criticised women leaders for coming out to condemn, Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti rape case.

“Cases of women harassment are on rise. We need to see MPs condemning such cases as they did in Mwiti[s case,” said Kisama.
