Eldoret West Police commander Smollets Munyianzi has put on notice drug peddlers saying the law will deal with them.
The commander told news reporters at his Eldoret office that he has received reports of rise in drug peddling.
Munyianzi warned that anyone caught using or peddling drugs will be arrested and charged in court of law.
“I have reports that a cartel of people is peddling drugs within Eldoret town, we want to tell them that their days are numbered,” he said.
The commander further warned youths in the area who are allegedly being used to transport drugs.
He asked the peddlers to surrender before the long arm of the government catches up with them.
Munyianzi blamed drugs to many problems being experienced in the town such as rise in crime.
He observed that peddlers and drug users are taking apart in crime in order to get money to buy drugs.
The commander said that patrols and security swoops will be conducted with the aim of dealing with peddlers.
Munyianzi on the other hand lauded residents to cooperating with law agencies in fight against crime.
He said that police-public cooperation has boosted the war against criminals in the town and called for continued cooperation.
He warned that the government will not give criminals room to cause havoc.
