Addressing the press from her office on Friday, the commissioner asked law enforcers to up their patrols and deal with elements of crime.

The commissioner intimated that the police have been equipped and should work towards ensuring security.

“I have directed law enforcers to conduct intensive patrols across Machakos County and deal with law breakers,” she said.

The commissioner further said that they have been directed to put in place adequate security measures in the wake of an attack at Garissa University.

She urged residents to work with the police, and supply them with information that will lead to arrest of criminals.

Gakuria intimated that they are counting on the public for information that will help them wipe out crime, further saying residents should remain calm and united and shun activities that will put them in trouble.

Elsewhere, Machakos town MCA Cornelius Kitheka has appealed to the government to deal with the problem of terrorism.

Kitheka said that the country is bleeding and that perpetrators of the Garissa attack must be apprehended.

He said that things should be normal when the instigators of the attack are free, adding that it is time for the country and the region to unite and against terrorism.
