Addressing residents at Gusii stadium on Monday during Jamhuri Day, Karanja said that security couldn't be improved without proper partnership between county and national governments.

Karanja urged locals to work with security officers to improve security in the region and also reiterated his commitment to restore peace in the troubled Kisii-Narok border.

“We need proper partnership between county and national government to ensure proper security to our people. My appeal to locals is that we need to work together as a united team," he said.

He also seized the opportunity to fire warning to illicit brewers insisting that his leadership will ensure the menace is completely curbed in the region.
