Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdi Hassan has assured residents of security during the December festive season.
He said everything is in order, therefore, no cause of alarm since security has been heightened.
“I want to assure residents that as we head for Christmas and new year celebrations we have deployed more security officers who will be carrying out regular patrols to ensure that mwanachi’s life is safe,” he said in Eldoret town, Thursday.
“We have also recalled our officers who were on leave for residents to celebrate Christmas holidays without any problems. Residents should ensure they embrace Kumi initiative by knowing the whereabouts of their neighbors since security starts with you,” he added.
He, however, gave the stern warning to restaurants and bars selling alcohol to minors saying that their days are numbered and soon they will be brought to come.
“Anyone who will sell alcohol to minors will be arrested and charged thereafter his/her business will be closed since they are putting the lives of children in danger,” noted Hassan.
