Kisii County Deputy Commissioner Willy Cheboi has urged Suneka residents to be wary about some individuals circulation counterfeit notes in the county.
Speaking at Iterio Mixed Primary School play grounds in Suneka during World Orphans Day, Cheboi requested the area residents to be on the watch-out over fake notes which he said are being circulated especially in Suneka township issuing a stun warning to the culprits.
"Be careful about individuals who are out there using fake money to buy commodities from unsuspecting people and parents should be watchful of strangers sending their kids to buy them air time using those fake notes,” warned Commissioner Cheboi.
Cheboi urged the residents to report any incident they perceive is in breach of the law to the authorities through the area local administration and avoid taking the law into their hands saying that by killing the suspect makes people as bad as that suspect.
This warning comes amid uproar from Suneka residents and its neighbourhood over un-identified customers buying goods from the local shops and market using fake money from unsuspecting business owners.
Cheboi commenting on the day event, he expressed his concern over the escalating number of orphans in the county and advised all the stakeholder in all aspects to take up the responsibility of taking care of the less privileged kids as a way of ensuring a better tomorrow for the young ones.
