Communities living in Kikopey, Gilgil sub-county have been urged to embrace peace and ensure co-existence.
Speaking in a phone interview after holding a cohesion meeting in the area, Gilgil assistant county commissioner Catherine Wangui said pastoralists have flocked the area and there is need to keep peace.
Wangui said that should not however create conflict among the locals.
“We are just calling on the residents to embrace peace in the area of Kikopey up to Kamaathai. We know there are herdoes who come in search of pasture for their animals but this should not trigger conflict. We also call on residents to know everyone who comes around so that criminals may not take advantage” said the ACC.
