Nyamira County commissioner Isaiah Nakoru has asked a man who escaped from a Juvenile jail in Manga surrender himself to police.
According to Nakoru, the man can only be forgiven if he surrenders to police officers.
“The suspect accused of defiling a minor escaped from Manga prison. I wish to assure him that I will stand as his personal surety if he surrenders to police,” said Nakoru.
He urged members of the public and the suspect’s relatives to produce him because the law will not spare him even if it is 10 years to come.
“The law will not forget even if it is 10 years to come. It is advisable for the rape suspect to surrender to police and tell police who helped him to escape from jail and he will be forgiven or be given a probation punishment,” he added.
Nakoru assured that security officers will not rest until the suspect is re-arrested if he doesn’t surrender to police.
