Wambua said if locals will burn the vehicles, it will be hard for police officers to conduct investigations to apprehend the suspects.

“Locals should stop destroying evidence especially burning of vehicles and motorbikes being used by criminals.

"Detectives will use the vehicles and motorbikes as exhibits to probe the criminal activities and arrest the suspects,” he said.

He said the latest incident where residents of Nyabigege shopping center in South Mugirango set on a fire a vehicle which was being used by thugs who shot dead two night security guards has affected investigations.

“Detectives are having difficulty times investigating an incident that happened in Nyabigege few days ago because the locals burnt the vehicle the thugs were using.

"It is advisable for locals to wait for police to give directions on how a crime matter can be handled instead of taking the law into their hands,” he noted.
