In a briefing with journalists at his office in Mandera on Monday, Shisia said that social media hate mongers will have it rough once they are caught.
He said that the government security agencies are tracking social media inciters, adding that they have nowhere to hide.
Shisia said that security analysts are investigating some social media pages and groups which he claimed are being used by some politicians to incite residents.
“We are going to act tough on rogue social media users who are using their pages to fane and spew hate speech,” Shisia said.
Shisia asked social media user’s especially young people to deist from sharing or posting hateful messages.
He also put on notice vernacular radio stations allegedly airing inflammatory content.
He said that radio stations and the media has to adhere to their code of conduct.
Shisia said that there have been concerns form a section of locals that some politicians are using vernacular stations to perpetuate hatred.
Meanwhile, Shisia has urged residents to remain calm and peaceful, saying that their security has been take care off.
He said that proper mechanisms have been put in place to ensure locals safety before during and after the August 8 general election.
