The legislator is facing charges against propagating hate speech on social media, the move that the commission has termed as careless talk.

On Friday, NCIC Chairman Francis Ole Kaparo told the press in Nairobi that they were withdrawing from conciliation between the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and the Gatundu South legislator, a move that could allow the case to reach trial.

Ole Tutui lauded the move saying that it will go a long way in the reduction of hate speech on social media and public forums by politicians and other social media users.

“I fully support the move by NCIC to allow Kuria’s case to be dealt with by the judiciary as this will bring sanity in our leaders and youth,” sadi Tutui.

“We have to understand that Kenya is composed of many tribes with different social, cultural and political affiliations,” added the Administrator.

Speaking to our reporter in his office on Friday, Ole Tutui warned the youth against propagating hate speech on social media, saying that the punishment could be costly on them.
