Addressing locals on Thursday, the MCA  accused some county leaders of wasting time on issues that will not spur development.

He said that leaders must realise that they are working for the people and serve them diligently.

“I am concerned and at the same time disturbed that most leaders in Kiambu are not serving the people,” he said.

Waichere asserted that time is coming when leaders will regret their current actions saying that locals are watching.

The MCA said that leaders have a responsibility to work and ensure residents have access to basic services.

Waichere urged Kiambu Governor William Kabogo to promote development across the county. He said that residents have the right to access development without being discriminated upon.

The MCA also appealed to the county government to start programmes that will empower women, youths and persons with disabilities.

He said that empowering these groups will create a ground for socio-economic development.
