The Nakuru County Assembly Committee on and Social Welfare has cried foul over discrepancies in the Hiring of casual workers in the County.
According to the committee Chairman Njoroge Mwanjo, the manner in which casual workers are hired has not been well coordinated as several of them have been suspended without receiving their pay.
“Despite summoning the chairman of the county public service board Waithanji Muutiiti and the county executive Member for Public Service Anne Njenga, both have not been able to explain why this casual workers are being suspended without following the laid down procedure,” said Mwanjo.
Mwanjo added that the committee has since directed Njenga to summon all County Executives in order to iron out this issue.
He noted that service delivery at the Sub-county level has not been smooth as expected because Sub-county administrators have not been fully involved by County Executives in the course of executing certain duties.
It is for this reason that the committee recommended that Sub-county Executives in order to avoid creating yawning administrative gaps.
