[Photo/kenyans.co.ke]Police officers who allow vehicles in rickety condition to continue rolling on the road will be held to account.Owners of such vehicles will bear the greatest responsibility in case a proposed law by the Parliamentary Committee on Transport becomes law.In the proposed law, long-distance trailers will be required to have to drivers on board to guard against accidents caused by worn out drivers.Paul Maringa, Transport Principal Secretary, said that trucks were required to have two drivers on board but that regulation was being flouted.David Psoking will table proposals in parliament for debate in the coming days.
