Njoro assistant county commissioner Ahmed Mohammud has called on security agencies in Mau Narok Njoro to deal decisively with any threats to public security in the area.
Mohammud was speaking during a public forum in Mau Narok trading centre in reaction to reports that some morans were planning to cause trouble in Topot area.
“We have heard some people here are planning something ... I don’t know they are called morans or what... But I think that issue we shall take it to the District security committee but before that I want the security agencies in Mau Narok to act,” he said.
Topot area is located in Narok north constituency but boarders Njoro constituency.
While warning trouble makers in the area that they will face the law, the administrator said security apparatus was ready for any eventuality.
He also warned chiefs and their assistants against taking bribes from those involved in the sale of illicit brews.
“Those selling illicit brews in Mau Narok should know that their days are numbered,” he said.
Mohammud also warned those involved in child labor citing Gachembe farm which he said is notorious for engaging children in casual work.
“I want to call upon the chiefs to address the matter and ensure parents who do not take their children to school are arrested and charged,” he said.
While noting that the basic education act clearly states that education is free and compulsory, the administrator warned school heads to stop demanding money from parents in order for their children to be enrolled in school.
