Obesity is affecting a lot of people around the world. It is caused by an individual consuming more calories than they burn off over a period of time. The health risks include heart diseases, high blood pressure, cancer, type 2 diabetes and breathing problems which tend to lead to snoring. Health problems are only part of the difficulty. There is social hostility associated with obesity. Obese children can get picked on in school because they look larger than their friends. Obese people also get attacked on the basis of their appearance categorized as not being fit. Limited fashion choices due to their excessive fat make it difficult to enjoy their pick of clothes as others do. Body shaming is also something that obese people tend to encounter. Size and weight do not allow obese people to be very active, flexible and fast. They get tired and sweat a lot quite easily. Obese parents are not able to run around and play with their children. Obesity inhibits a lot of activities for an individual. It's important for family and friends to support obese persons to make healthier food choices and exercise. This is necessary since some people are driven to eat too much to try to cope psychological issues like stress, low self esteem, and depression.
