Most relationships hit the dead end prematurely as a result of someone being falsely alarmed and jumping into baseless conclusions. However some get to the point of no return where it’s only right you part ways, and insisting on being together at this point only does more harm than good. The following are some of the signs that give that false impression that your relationship/marriage is headed to the wrong direction:
Silence
People who are in love don’t have to talk to each other all the time. Love can also be expressed by absence of speech. However be alarmed if the silence is as a result of you being on bad terms or the two of you forcing conversations.
Absence of sex once in a while
Understand that your spouse/partner will not be in the mood for sex every time, and this does not necessarily mean that they are cheating. Sometimes its just fatigue or they have a lot on their mind. However, be concerned when the absence of intimacy goes on for very long periods yet you share the same matrimonial bed, then it’s time to seek advice from either a doctor, therapist or marriage counselor or all of them combined.
You have different tastes and preferences
Your spouse might not enjoy everything you do or like. This ranges from music genre to sports, but it does not in any way compromise your compatibility. Compatibility only means that the two of you connect despite the differences. However, be on the lookout for a selfish partner who is no longer interested in what brings you joy and cares less.
Your partner admires a celebrity
There is always that musician, actor, media personality your partner will talk very highly of or find very good looking. Relax, your partner only likes this person as a brand but loves you as a person. Be alarmed if your spouse has access to this celebrity and he/she compares them to you with intent to undermine or talk down on you.
Arguments
Just because you had a disagreement about an issue which led to a debate or fight does not necessarily mean the relationship is over. How fast make up and come to a resolution is what matters, don’t let conflict spill over to the next day. However be concerned if you keep on fighting over the same issue for extended periods or if the disagreements lead to physical and emotional abuse.
