Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) board on Friday evening sent director general Francis Wangusi on compulsory leave.According to Business Daily, Mr Wangusi was accused of malpractice in staff training and promotions at the regulator. The board said that the leave would allow investigations to take place.The board which is yet to issue a statement on the issue, met on Friday evening under the its chairperson, Ngene Kariuki, and cited Human resource issues at the communications regulator.Mr Wangusi has been at the helm of CA since 2012 and has endured a turbulent career.Mr Wangusi last year put up several industry dissatisfactions among them Safaricom's dominant position in the market and CA's awarding Jamii Telecommunications Limited (JTL) a 4G License.Mr Wangusi also put up a spirited fight for digital migration of television that saw media houses unite and took the communication Authority to court which the courts upheld in CA's favour.
