Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has been an instrumental part of the NASA leadership and also an influential politician in the coast where he has led campaigns for his party Leader Raila Odinga.
However, since the swearing-in of President Uhuru Kenyatta, the Orange Democratic Movement deputy leader has been seen in the public limelight of the meetings held by the coalition.
Governor Joho's Communication Director, Richard Chacha, stated that despite his disappearance in the public gatherings, he is still a part of the coalition and has been involved in all the recent decisions made.
The Governor's communication director has disclosed that his boss has been held up with meetings that involve his responsibilities towards Mombasa County development.
He added that the Governor traveled out of the country last week for his other official duties.
Mr.Chacha revealed that Joho has been involved in the negotiations of the swearing-in of NASA leader Raila Odinga and he supports his party.
Joho has been silent in the meetings held by NASA coalition especially after the riots that emerged after police had confrontations with the NASA supporters while attempting to hold a memorial service on Jacaranda grounds.
Though Governor's loyalty towards the coalition is immense that his county was among those that were willing to hold the swearing-in of Odinga. However, the swearing-in was postponed on Sunday evening following a press held by the coalition at the Okoa Kenya offices.
NASA co-principal, Musalia Mudavadi, appreciated the Mombasa people for graciously accepting to host the event.
