The Communications Authority has said it will revote the licesce of Sendy Ltd, an international courier backed by Safaricom.
Authority’s Director General Francis Wangusi signed a gazette notice dated September 1, but did not highlight reasons for the decision.
“Notice is given, pursuant to the provisions of the Kenya Information and Communications Act, that the Communications Authority of Kenya will revoke the international courier operator licence held by Sendy Ltd within seven days from the date of this Gazette,” reads part of the notice.
Sendy Ltd describes itself as an e-courier platform.
It was one of the beneficiaries of Safaricom’s Sh102 million Spark Venture Fund.
Spark Venture Fund supports local mobile technology start-ups. Other beneficiaries include Little Ride, a taxi-hailing business.
