Director General, Eng Francis Wangusi warned media houses against engaging in tallying and releasing results of the elections, before they are confirmed by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
"We are aware that some media houses have plans to release election results ahead of IEBC. We are reminding media houses toying with the idea, that IEBC is the official body charged with releasing of the official results. They should therefore stop,” Wangusi warned Monday.
In a press briefing, he noted that CA-K would be monitoring all the activities of media houses, including those that are found online, on everything they do and what they post.
He said any media house that wants to release election results after the voting day, should work closely with the IEBC< and release results, as per the IEBC results.
"We want to avoid cases where the public consumes results that are not approved by IEBC. Such cases can lead to violence which we do not want. We want peace this electioneering period," he said.
The CA-K boss further indicated the social media would not be shut during he election, but they would monitor all the activity on the social media platform, to avoid cases where the platform is misused.
