Speaking in a press conference on Monday evening in Thika township ward, Njomo accused the community policing board of not being cooperative and thus he could not work single handed during this time of insecurity level.

He said that he had other personal reasons of stepping down and he appreciated the board for entrusting him to hold such a risky and important position.

This comes after Njomo was forced to call off the community policing meeting in Makongeni phase 4 on Sunday after residents failed to turn up and were forced to address empty chairs terming the resident as shameful and ignorant.

He has expressed his gratitude to the resident of Thika community and urged them to work diligently with the new boards chairman Charles Owila.

According to Njomo, Owila is the greatest leader and he has full trust on him that he will deliver more than he could while still in office.

The new Community Policing chairman Owila who was in the same conference urged residents to be cooperative and he will work hand in hand with the grass root members to ensure security is the main agenda.

He thanked the ongoing chairman Njomo for working under minimum supervision and putting the interest of the public at forefront promising to continue where he has left.

The election which will be held next month will see the community policing and Nyumba Kumi members to vote in a new chairman where Owila will sill compete for the position.
