Thika Community Policing Council Chairman has called on members of the public to support an initiative that aims at purchasing patrol vehicles.

Charles Owila said this on Saturday after a meeting held at Starehe Community Hall where the officials met to deliberate on the changes they can make to improve security.

He said Thika community policing has a big area to cover geographically but the resources were insufficient.

He said they were willing to invest in two vehicles that will enable the police patrol the area at night.

He said the area will be guaranteed of security thus asking the Thika fraternity and leaders to join hands to raise money to purchase the vehicles and fuel them.

“We will be raising money to purchase two community policing patrol cars, please help us to keep our region safe for we know this vehicles will be used by the security officers to respond to our emergencies.” Owila said.
