Voluntary Community Health workers in Kisii County have been advised to visit residents at their homes to ensure they are using Mosquito nets appropriately.
This comes after 200 Community Health workers received bicycles from Amref Kenya to enable them visit households in Kisii County.
Addressing them on Wednesday at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, Kisii Health CeC Sarah Omache urged them to make sure that the bicycles are used well.
She said the bicycles will help community health workers to visit residents in the rural areas to monitor the situation and provide information to the county's health department on changes that can be effected.
“These bicycles are going to help our community workers to visit our people in their home places to know their health status and I advise you to makes sure that you to use this bicycles purposely to visit residents,” said Omache
She also thanked Amref for the support they are giving and vowed to work with them in improving service provision in the health department.
