An accident involving a commuter train and a trailer near Cereals, Embakasi area has left one person injured.
The Wednesday morning incident happened after the trina collided with the trailer in Donholm area, Embakasi.
According to witnesses, the train was heading Embakasi but was forced involved in the accident, forcing it to derail.
The injured rider is said to have been caught up in the crash, as the trailer tried to cross the railway hurriedly.
According to Fred Majiwa, a St. John's Ambulance who spoke to the Star, the rider was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital for treatment.
"Kenya Railways officials say efforts are being made to remove the wagons while our own St John Ambulance medics are at the scene," Majiwa said.
The accident caused a traffic snarl-up along the busy Outering road that is under construction.
It’s not the first time the train is derailing on the same route, having been involved in another accident in March.
