Kisii county Governor James Ongwae has challenged Kisii county Members of parliament to compel the national government to construct Suneka airstrip in Bonchari constituency.
According to Ongwae, Sh1.5 billion is the amount required to complete the construction.
He said that the Mps should make a follow up of the money they were promised before by the government since the promise is not yet fulfilled.
Governor Ongwae said the county government received Sh50 million that can only be used to construct toilets and waiting shades at the airstrip.
“We need Suneka air strip to be constructed and I am asking all kisii Mps to try and compel the national government to fulfill the promise they made before,” said Ongwae.
Ongwae added that lack of unity among Kisii Mps has delayed the promise from being fulfilled and urged them to work together to get more benefits from the government.
