Maureen Nyongesa said: "I think what the government is doing is just to blackmail the victims. when president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto held a thanks giving ceremony at Afraha Stadium, they promised to never let any other Kenyan go to the ICC this means even if they don’t compensate the victims as earlier promised, no one will sue them,"

"The government promised to compensate the victims some time back. Right now three years have gone yet no one has given the victims  a single cent. I don’t see how the government will fulfill the promise," said victor Moses.

Bramwel Chilungu, however, said the government can compensate the victims but it will not give enough money as they want. He said the PEV victims are very many and this will take the government quite some time to fulfill the promise. He called on the government to speed up the process of compensating the victims.
