Kisii South KNUT branch executive secretary Geoffrey Mogire has challenged the government to compensate the two families that lost their members on Thursday last week at Daraja Mbili when administration police Quick Response Team allegedly shot them.
Mogire said justice should be done and there is a need for the two families to get compensated.
Speaking on Monday when residents from Bonchari and Bobasi constituencies demonstrated at Kisii county commissioner’s office in led by Geoffrey Mogire, he challenged the government to compensate the families and justice to be done.
“We are appealing to the government to make sure the two families of Edinah Gesare and Irene Kerubo get compensated,” said Mogire.
“We also need an investigation to be done to know who shot the innocent residents and the culprits should be sacked and jailed to show justice,” he added.
On the other hand, Kisii county deputy county commissioner Peter Mbugi who was present during the demo promised that Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA)officers are on the ground and no stone will be left unturned until justice is done.
