Western Kenya is likely to face confusion on who to entrust with the task of representing them nationally in the presidential poll.

This comes after the Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli and a section of leaders from the region including Ababu Namwamba, Musalia Mudavadi and John Walukhe on Saturday convened at his (Atwoli's) Khwisero home where they expressed their willingness to support Musalia as their representative. 

However, the Bungoma Senator and Cord co-principal Moses Masika Wetangula while attending a burial ceremony in Bungoma called upon the former Deputy Premier to support his presidential bid with the Cord ticket in the next election saying that he is best placed to go for the seat with the backing of Raila and Kalonzo Musyoka.

The community has been on the spotlight lately with some of its influential leaders taking divergent political ways with Ababu Namwamba and his team breaking off from the Orange party to make their own third force.

Governor Ken Lusaka and Eugene Wamalwa on the other hand joined the Jubilee way and Moses Wetangula remaining with the CORD  fraternity.

Mudavadi has however not made it clear whether he will work with Cord even after a committee initiated by the coalition to propose on the best formation termed him as a very important leader who can grant the coalition victory if absorbed in.
