Nyamira County leaders have been challenged to focus on development by completing pending projects  before they start re-election campaigns ahead of general election.

Local residents have accused the current leaders both from the national and county government of concentrating more on political enemies and rivals, forgetting their mandate.

Makori Osinde, a tea farmer from Gesima ward said that the leaders have not done enough, and there is need to adjust their measures of achieving goals before the next general elections.

“Tea farmers from our area have been struggling,  yet the governor promised us that they were to help us to get better payment, unfortunately nothing has been done, we need to urge the current leaders to help us before they seek re-election in the next general election,” said Makori.

James Mosiori, also a resident from Gesima said that there are many incomplete projects, like roads, that need to be completed before elections.

“We want the current leaders to help us complete development projects before they start campaigns since there is some allocations which has been done,” said Mosioiri.
