They claim that Opore has not completed a project he started 7 years ago that is constructing a local polytechnic in the area.

Speaking at the Miranga polytechnic grounds, the residents now wants the construction of the facility completed before 2017.

"This project has been stuck without any sign of completion for the last 7 years. Opore has been in office 15 years now but he seems to have forgotten this project. In 2013, he assured us he was to allocate money to finish the construction of the facility but until today no money has been allocated for the project," said John Machoni.

"We have witnessed other places being given CDF money to complete projects Opore initiated, why has he forgotten the construction of Miranga youth polytechnic, a project that was started 7 years ago. We may not support him in 2017 since he has done nothing to our community. We need the school constructed to benefit our youths who never get chances to go to secondary schools," said Helen Bironga.

She added that despite the support women from the village gave Opore in 2013, he has failed to support the chamas they organise.

"If at all Opore would need us to vote him in 2017, let him finish this project otherwise we are not ready to be cheated to vote him any more. 15 years are enough for him. As residents of Miranga, Opore should note that we voted him in the last elections but his leadership has not benefited us at all," she added.

Isaac Oroo also said that if the facility is not going to be completed before 2017, owners of the land that was allocated for the construction of the facility will resume their farming activities on the land.
