Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has directed all contractors in the county to ensure they comply with the physical planning act while constructing buildings in Eldoret town and other major urban centers.

Mandago pointed out that physical planning act was a key component for the success and prosperity of any urban center."I want to urge contractors from the county to comply with the physical planning and zoning act before putting up any building, failure to that one will face the full force of the law. Eldoret town will soon be elevated to a city status and we won't allow shoddily done buildings," Mandago said in Eldoret town, Wednesday."Statistics show that in the next 30 years, 50 percent of the population will be living in urban centers therefore proper planning is paramount.
