Mwala MP elect Vincent Musyoka has asked former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti who contested in the Machakos governor race and lost to incumbent Alfred Mutua to concede defeat.
Musyoka says that Wavinya Ndeti lost fairly and that she should accept the voice of the people.
Speaking to journalists in Machakos on Thursday, the Mwala lawmaker said that Ndeti had no numbers to beat Alfred Mutua.
“My advice to Wavinya Ndeti is for her to concede defeat and accept the outcome f recently concluded general election,” he said as quoted by the People Daily.
Mwala who won re-election as MP on Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party, said that Governor Mutua won fairly, adding that Ndeti should file a petition instead of speculating that the election was stolen.
“Wavinya Ndeti should go to court if she feels aggrieved and stop using the media to claim that she was denied victory, the Mwala MP elect said.
On Thursday, Wavinya Ndeti said that she will challenge governor Mutua’s re-election in court.
Ndeti alleged that there was massive irregularities in the management of the Machakos governor race.
She expressed optimism that the courts will over-turn Mutua’s win in her favour.
Governor Mutua was declared the winner after he narrowly beat Ndeti in the hotly contested governor race.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader has since been sworn into office for a second term.
