A section of Kisii County traders have now raised concern over the increased number of street children loitering in the town.

They even accused the street children for stealing from the public. 

Led by Ezra Manduku, the traders said the rate at which the number of street kids was increasing in the town was alarming. 

"We ask the children's department to intervene and help address the situation before its too late," he said. 

Mr Manduku said that the street urchins every night assemble outside Nile hotel where they beg for food.

"Most of this kids we have realised that they have their parents. Our biggest concern is where are this parents?" Posed Mr Manduku. 

The traders however, praised Kisii sports County Executive for starting a campaign pf ensuring that the kids are taken back to school.

"For the first time we have felt what it means to have a leader who cares and we appreciate all the efforts he is making in ensuring that the kids go back to school," said Manduku.
