[Photo/liqourstand]It has now emerged that illicit alcohol brands are back in the Kenyan market.The return of the liquor comes after two years following a crackdown launched in 2015.According to the Standard, brands that were banned by the government are now being sold.The paper reports that manufacturers have introduced the brands back in the market under different names.Unscrupulous business operators are also recycling used bottles from legit players to package their substandard products. It has also emerged that they are using fake Kenya Bureau of Standards tax stamps to get their products in the market. In addition, alcoholic drinks packed in sachets are also back in the local market, despite being banned more than 10 years ago.The re-emergence of the brands means that the government is losing out revenue.
