Political analyst Mark Bichachi has absolved the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) of any blame in conducting the repeat presidential election on Thursday.
He believes that IEBC carried out certain institutional changes to rectify the problems that were experienced on the August 8th election.
However, Bichachi believes that the communication by IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati is not shading light on the voter turn out confusion currently being challenged by Kenyans.
"It is not fair to blame IEBC for the way in which it conducted the repeat presidential election. The commission made institutional changes to ensure a repeat of the problems made on the August 8th elections is not experienced again. However, Chebukati is not communicating efficiently and that is why there is confusion in the voter turn out on Thursday's election," reiterated Bichachi.
Bichachi further agreed with Deputy President William Ruto's CNN remarks that violence experienced on the election day prevented some Kenyans from exercising their right to vote.
"It is a fact that there was violence instigated by some people who did not want election to take place. Youths blocked roads and even prevented IEBC officials from accessing polling stations," added Bichachi.
The analyst made his remarks on Sunday during a political debate on KTN News.
