Stakeholders in the fight against malaria have now been challenged to enhance collaborative research to eradicate the killer disease from Africa.

The continent bears approximately 91% of the world's malaria burden.

Speaking during the launch of a malaria field station in East Africa, Tanzania Head of Malaria Elimination Program Dr Abdullah Ali emphasised the key role of understanding wild mosquito behavioral trends so as to guide public policies that aim at combating the disease.

Malaria remains a public health nightmare in Kenya with over 28 million persons at risk of infection with the resultant complications proving a huge assignment at community level and the overall economic growth of the country.
