President Uhuru Kenyatta has set conditions under which he might be compelled to hold dialogue with opposition leader Raila Odinga.
During his October 26 presidential elections acceptance speech on Monday, President Uhuru stated that he is open to dialogue only after all available constitutional mechanisms have been exhausted.
“Let the aggrieved exhaust all constitutional processes first before we discuss dialogue,” he said.
Uhuru said that despite being declared the winner, there remained another process that might challenge his win and he was ready for it.
“The people of Kenya decided, the IEBC made their announcement. There is still another process, we shall await its outcome,” President Kenyatta stated.
IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati declared President Kenyatta the winner of the repeat poll after garnering 7,483,895 Million votes (98.26%) of the total votes cast beating Mr Odinga who got 73,228 votes (0.96%), despite boycotting the election.
