Commissioner Dr Roba Sharamo said the country will only approach the next polls peacefully if the parties carry out credible nominations.

Sharamo said if proper measures are put in place, the country will not witness any violence in the coming polls.

“The country is capable of conducting the coming elections in a peaceful atmosphere, only if our political parties conducted free and credible nominations,” he said.

Speaking in Kisumu West constituency during a forum on community dialogue, Sharamo said politicians should remain tolerant in their bid to seek for votes.

He further urged electorates to make wise decisions at the ballot and not to be swayed by money.

"This appeal goes to the voters to always make wise decisions, don’t just vote a leader because he or she has given you money. Remember that person you are voting will be in office for five years. If you elect a bad leader, be ready to endure,” he said.

Sharamo said good politicians are judged by their deeds and told the public to shun those who employ violence to ascend o power.
