Kisii University students have called upon marketing agencies to do their marketing far away from their school compound.
They have accused the advertising agencies of noise pollution hence disrupting their studies.
They claim the agencies which advertise a variety of products in the region have a tendency of targeting students and the community nearby.
The students say the advertising firms are characterised by loud music from moving trucks and dancers who try to draw customers attention.
“They should respect that the university is a learning institution which should be free from noise of any kind that that may disrupt students in class," said Grace Wachira.
The students claim a number of times in class they have been disrupted by the marketers.
“It is a norm when you are in class a lorry playing very loud music passes and in most cases stand there for hours, conducting their promotions which hinder our learning activities," said Dennis Salat.
"We are human and such noise lowers one's concentration as we become interested wanting to know what is going on outside," he added.
They now call upon agencies conducting roadshows to do them away from the school.
