Speaking during the burial of a Maseno University student in his constituency, Wandayi requested the president to clarify on the matter saying that as a trustee of the public, he was in obligation to talk on issues that touch on their interest.

"Uhuru's silence on the letters could be interpreted that he wants the current IEBC to remain in office despite a glaring evidence incriminating them," Wandayi said.

The ODM Director of Political Affairs spoke after it emerged that four of the electoral body's commissioners had secretly written resignation letters to the president opting to voluntarily retire from public service.

In the letter, it is alleged that the commissioners requested that they be paid their dues and the compensation for their remaining term in office.

The president is however yet to respond to the allegations.
