The National Super Alliance (NASA) has re-embarked on their plan to swear in their leader Raila Odinga as President.

This was confirmed by the coalition's national organising committee said on Thursday.

In a statement, Hamida Kibwana, Koitamet ole Kina, Oduor Ong’wen, Judy Sijeny, Peter Mathuki, David Ndii and Bramwell Simiyu said the inaugural session of the National People's Assembly shall take place early next year.

"Following the postponement of the launch of the Peoples Assembly that was to take place on Jamhuri Day, December 12, the organising committee wishes to announce the resumption of the Peoples Assembly process," the team said.

NASA said the postponed first session of the National People’s Assembly shall be preceded by a series of consultative forums across the regions.

"These preparatory meetings will bring together the leadership of the different regions of the country to deliberate on national governance as it affects the regions, and to distil the region’s agenda for the Peoples Assembly," the statement said.

The first in this chain of meetings will be conducted on Sunday, December 17 at the Coast region in a function all NASA national leaders are expected to attend.

Detailed information on the forum is set to be communicated by the coast leadership while the national organising committee awaits to communicate the full schedule of the other consultative forums in the days to come.
