A celebration was held in Sameta Boys where more than 200 parents expressed considerable happiness with the transfer of the school’s Principal and his Deputy.

Principle Job Otieno’s stint in the school had started four years ago and had involved many complications, conflicts and even incidents of arson in the school.

The anarchy prevalent in the school led to the decline of performance in the institution, with  faculty force to be preoccupied with disciplinary cases rather than academics. Other students had also been sent to court.

According to one of the parents, they were at times forced to transfer their children to other schools, and some teachers had to abandon the school in search of more peaceful ones.

A solution was needed, fast. The school sponsors, in consultation with the Ministry of education decided to effect transfers and solve the problem.

“The outgoing principal Job Otieno had not been competent and the school’s performance has gone down compared to the times the school was under Abel Nyang’acha’s. We want him to take the school back to where it was,” said Kennedy Asuma, a parent in the school.

Abel Nyang’acha said that he was ready for the task and would make sure to restore the school to its former glory.

“We know the school had been politicized but am happy I have given the opportunity to take the school forward and I will,” said Nyang’acha.
